Receiving Error Message: The Document Name Or Path Is Not Valid When Using MS Word XP

  1. From the File menu, click Open.
  2. Click the Tools button, and then choose Search.
  3. Type the file to look for in the Search text field.
  4. Check the places to search for in the Search in field.
  5. In the Results should be field, uncheck all items except Word Files.
  6. Click Go.
  7. Select the file in the Results field and then click OK.
  8. Click Open.
  9. If the file is not found, make sure it has not been renamed or deleted. Also, check the file permissions for the document or drive.
