How to Sharpen Shadows and Highlight Areas in Adobe Photoshop CS2.

  1. Go to the Filter menu.
  2. Choose the Sharpen option and then click the Smart Sharpen option.

  4. Use the Shadow and Highlight tabs to modify the intensity of dark and light areas.

    5. Note: Fade Amount adjusts the amount of sharpening in the highlights or shadows.
