How to Use Active Channels in Internet Explorer 6

  1. Active channels are a new way of viewing automatically updating content and are visible even without having Internet Explorer open. To view active channels on the desktop, right-click the desktop and choose the Properties option.
  2. Choose the Web tab.
  3. Check the option, View my Active Desktop as a web page.
  4. Download an Active Desktop item such as the Microsoft Investor Active Desktop Ticker from the Microsoft website.
  5. Select the Customize button to modify how much content can be available offline, to modify the synchronization schedule, or to add a password.
  6. Click the OK button.
