How to Activate the Mouse Wheel in MS Windows XP Professional

  1. Go to the Windows Start menu, click the Control Panel option and then double-click the System icon.
  2. Select the Hardware tab and then select the Device Manager button.
  3. Increase the Mice and other pointing devices folder by clicking the plus sign (+) beside it.
  4. Double-click the mouse to be configured and then select the Advanced Settings tab.
  5. Use the Wheel Detection drop-down list and then select Look for wheel.
  6. Click the OK button.
  7. Click x at the upper right corner of the Device Manager window to exit this menu.
  8. Click the OK button to exit System Properties.
